Hail's angels - riders of the storm

June 7th Slough Observer.

MEMBERS of a motor-cycle action group gathered at the Yew Tree Inn, Farnham Common, to take part in the club's annual 'poker-run'.

More than 20 riders compete in the treasure hunt which involved picking up playing cards at various points throughout Berks and Bucks to make up a winning hand of poker.

The run, organised by Slough and Windsor Motor- cycle Action Group (MAG) recently, was plagued with bad weather. MAG Member Richard Buckland of Slough said "Some of the bikers looked pretty bedraggled. It was hailing and that can really hurt when you are on your bike. But everyone completed the run - a real achievement."

Bikers from as far away as Wallingford and Henley, who collected the best poker hands, won prizes that included a free breakfast and motorbike parts. There was also a prize for best mileage over the run.

Yew Tree landlord Alan Ingrey said: "Everyone did really well to brave the weather. The winner is always welcome to collect their free breakfast whenever they want, they deserve it."
