Windsor & District MAG history
A summary of our meeting places, reps and our bike shows. Other events have been excluded.
1992
8th February 1992 Windsor MAG formed by Mark Winks.
Meetings start at The Copper Horse in Windsor, Mark is rep.
1993
Have to leave the Copper horse because of noise complaints.
Early 1993 we move to The Swan in Slough (now Spaggos)
Neil Trehearne is rep at The Swan.
1994
By Autumn 1994 we are at The Farnham Pump in Slough
1995
August 1995 First Old Wolf bike show held at The Dedworth Arms. Organised by Neil?
November 1995 by now, Jason is rep
(Not sure of the sequence of events with Jason resigning, the emergency meeting and the move)
Have to leave The Farnham Pump due to a member being banned by the landlord due to a disagreement. Jason holds an emergency meeting at a pub in Bray to move the meeting place.
November 1995 Move to The Dedworth Arms in Windsor (Now The Maypole).
Jason has to resign due to working night shifts.
1996
Spring 1996 First "Ago" and then Alex have a brief time as rep until Grasscutter is talked into the job.
July 1996 Second Old Wolf bike show held at The Dedworth Arms. Organised by Uncle Steve.
1997
26th July 1997 Third Old Wolf bike show held at The Dedworth Arms. Organised by Uncle Steve.
1998
Have to leave The Dedworth Arms because it became a beef-eater type place.
February 1998 - Move to The Flags in Chalvey
1st August 1998 Fourth Old Wolf bike show held at The Prince of Wales in Chalvey. (now McDonalds). Organised by Jim.
1999
3 or 4 week move to The Three Tuns while The Flags was closed
4th September 1999 Fifth Old Wolf bike show held at The Flags. Organised by Damian & Guy.
April 1999 Sarah and Peter become joint reps.
2000
Decide to move because the numbers dropped suddenly, this was attributed to a feeling that people were no longer comfortable at The Flags.
8th February 2000 move to the Yew Tree north of Slough
2nd September 2000 Old Wolf bike show held at The Yew Tree. Organised by Jo & Richard.
Decide to move because people were not happy with The Yew Tree for various reasons, several members were refusing to go to the pub.
17th October 2000 move back to The Flags.
Grasscutter is doing the meetings again, Peter is still rep, Sarah not sure.
2001
29th May 2001 Peter and Sarah resign as joint reps but continue as "acting" reps.
2nd June 2001 7th Poker run. Organised by Chief and Malcom.
8th September 2001 Old Wolf Bike Show held at the Flags. Organised by Rich (landlord) and Jim.
2002
22nd Vote to move to the Maypole (was Dedworth Arms, was The Wolf) in Windsor as numbers are low and we'd like to be in Windsor anyway.
Richard offers to be rep in the new pub.
